What you plant in your garden is what you will grow. But sometimes things come up that you haven’t purposefully planted. Being a city girl, I was never instructed in gardening and until what’s growing is really big I can’t tell a plant from a weed. And that is something you need to know.
It is the same with our minds. What we put in them, is what will grow. Good thoughts we plant while reading the Bible will produce good fruit in your lives. Bad thoughts whispered to us by the enemy, or picked up by just living on this earth produces weeds that take over your thinking and can even spill over into actions. Much of our culture is not right and some of it we have accepted as fact we. So until we know how GOD sees things, we are like I am about weeds- clueless. For until recognize a weed, we will not pull the weeds that try to take over.
When we focus on anxious thoughts of what could happen, fear can grow and control us. If we listen to cursing and gossip guess what comes to mind? Yes, those anxious thoughts and those words that should not have been said.
On the other hand if you read your Bible and talk about the truths in GOD’s Word and to GOD you will have your minds renewed and your thoughts become like HIS (Ephesians 5:26, 2 Peter 1:3-4).
God urges us: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD (Romans 12:2).
Keeping your eyes fixed on JESUS … Hebrews 12:2
Don’t be worried about anything, but in everything let your requests be made known unto GOD with thanksgiving and the peace of GOD will guard and keep your heart and mind. Set your thoughts on what is true, what is honorable, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely, what is admirable. Think about those things that are excellent & worthy of praise. Philippians 4:6-8.
