I Will Take Your Hand

And it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set.” Exodus 17:11 & 12 (emphasis mine)

What do you see when you look at the photo above? Go ahead, look again.

Come with me, if you will, into this picture.

Soak in what’s happening. Can you hear the worship team? Do you hear the prayers – the praise? Deep heart-cries and powerful petitions are being poured out before the throne of grace in this room. God is making His dwelling place here.

Now begin to experience it. Feel the strength entering the bodies, the spirits, the lives of these women as their hands are supported by their comrades-in-arms. They are steady. They are prevailing. The Lord’s ladies are looking full into His wonderful face and the things of earth are growing strangely dim to them. His Shekinah glory reigns in this place.

Powerful, isn’t it?

I snapped the picture above while attending a ladies retreat in Colorado Springs earlier this year. It’s lovely and stirring, but entirely inadequate to truly depict the depth and beauty of our time with the Lord and one another that evening. But I was there. I experienced it. And every time I look at this photo, I’m filled with awe, wonder, and tears remembering what God did for me in that place.

Hebrews 10:23 – 25 instructs, “Let us hold unswervingly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not forsaking meeting together…but encouraging one another.”

God promises to meet us anywhere, anytime we seek His presence (James 4:8). Our personal times with the Lord are invaluably intimate. But there are things God wants to reveal and give us that are reserved only for when we join with our sisters in Christ and support and strengthen and steady one another’s hands.

Do you want to see God in His glory? Come meet together with your sisters. This month. September 25th through the 27th. Family Worship Center’s Sisters’ Retreat is coming up in just three weeks. Ladies, by the end of this retreat, faces will shine from coming in contact with God’s Shekinah glory.* Will yours be one?

I’ll be there, and I will take your hand. Come worship your Lord with us. For information, call Paula Williams at 719-240-9458.

In His name and for His glory,

Jodi Greene
